Tom de baton das Herédias 2021 – Douro

Tom de baton das Herédias 2021 – Douro

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is reserved at first, but offers concentration and ripe fruitiness (with a touch of sweetness), after aeration. It expresses notes of black plum, wild strawberry, morello cherry, raspberry coulis and cherry jam, a tangy hint of crushed blueberry, as well as a delicate spicy side (white pepper, nutmeg) and a hint of dried blueberry and dried mint in the background. On the palate, the wine expresses the fruity flavors of fresh morello cherry, red plum, black plum, wild strawberry and crushed blueberry, complemented by gourmet touches of chocolate, prunes, as well as refreshing flavors of mint and licorice. The tannins are fine, well structured, slightly gripping, but balanced by the fruity substance and a nice acidity. Good persistence in the mouth.
