Thomas Pichet, Domaine du Petit Bondieu 2022 – Bourgueil

The wine has a deep ruby color with purplish reflections. The nose is delicious, fruity, with subtle touches of jam. It expresses notes of red cherry jam, morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, blackcurrant, as well as blackcurrant leaf, violet and a hint of liquorice. The palate is tight and firm on attack. The mid-palate is juicy and fruity: we find notes of tart red cherry, blackcurrant, cranberries, raspberry and crunchy strawberry, accompanied by a touch of violet and a herbaceous hint of crushed blackcurrant leaf, as well as a slight bitterness. A salivating acidity balances the firmness of the tannins. The finish is moderately persistent. The tannins are grippy.
