The nose is ripe, spicy, racy, discreetly tight and offers some chiselled quality as well as a certain intensity of grain. The wine needs to be decanted. There are notes of pulpy blueberry, Bigarreau cherry small notes of crushed strawberry combined with hints of plum, fresh nutmeg, fresh grey pepper as well as hints of dry earth/soil and a subtle hint of oak/chestnut. The palate is fruity, slightly restrained and offers minerality and roundness. A fine density on the mid-palate. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/ripe raspberry, blackberry and more slightly fleshy purple plum combined with delicate touches of violet, rose as well as fine hints of black olive, spice and a subtle hint of dried almond. Tannins are racy and discreetly pronounced.
