Terras do Grifo, Douro Superior 2020 – Douro

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is closed and requires aeration. It then expresses concentration, depth and a jammy and textured touch. We find notes of black plum, blackberry, morello cherry, red cherry jam, fresh blackcurrant and crème de cassis in the background, associated with notes of chocolate, prunes, as well as dried mint, liquorice, vanilla and peony. The palate is supple, enveloping and juicy. It expresses notes of crushed morello cherry, red cherry jam, blackberry, crème de cassis, prunes in chocolate, chocolate with mint, as well as a touch of white pepper, liquorice and crushed vanilla. The tannins are enveloping, soft and fine. Good persistence, with a slight bitterness, a touch of dried rose and a soft, but refreshing acidity. A full-bodied, warm, but gourmand and balanced wine.
