Tenuta Olim Bauda 2018, Riserva – Nizza

The nose is a little tight and offers some richness. The wine beneficiates from being decanted. It reveals notes of roasted blackberries, fairly ripe berries and small notes of morello cherries associated with touches of cornflower, camphor, toast and a fine hint of vanilla. The mouth is fruity and offers juiciness, a nice minerality, some freshness, roundness, finesse of its fatness as well as a certain well-mastered concentration. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/bright blackberry, pulpy/bright raspberry and slight hints of bright cherry associated with touches of violet, lily as well as hints of juicy/fresh plum, vanilla, fine hints of tonka bean, toast as well as a very discreet hint of almost black olive and a subtle saline note in the background. The tannins are fresh, precise and racy. Nice suave and sapid persistence.
