Tenuta Il Quinto – Ficaie 2018 – Morellino di Scansano

The nose is fruity and offers generosity, a fine grain, power, intensity as well as a pulpy/fleshy fruit. It reveals notes of Boysen berry, pulpy/juicy red fruits and small notes of blueberry associated with a hint of Bigarreau cherry, flowers as well as fine hints of sens of the place, zan/liquorice, sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of Brazilian pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy and offers a juicy/acidulous frame, a good definition, gourmandize, a fine fat, tension as well as precision. On the palate this wine expresses notes of Bugarreau cherry, pulpu/juicy wild red fruits and small notes of Boysen berry associated with a hint of juicy violet plum, fine hints of flowers as well as discreet hints of black olive, zan and spices/sens of the place. Tannins are well-built and elegant.
