The wine has a pale ruby color, with garnet reflections. The nose is fragrant and floral – it expresses pronounced aromas of rose, peony, violet and cherry blossom, which are complemented after aeration by juicy and tangy fruity notes (fresh red cherry, roasted red cherry, morello cherry), blackberry, red plum and blackcurrant), tertiary notes of leather, tobacco and faded rose, torrefaction (toasted almond, coffee), sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, white pepper, cumin, nutmeg) and herbs (thyme, roasted rosemary, bay leaf, dried mint in the background). The palate is smooth, but straight and firm, thanks to well-structured but fine tannins. On the attack, we find the juicy fruitiness (fresh red cherry, roasted red cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, red plum, black plum), tertiary notes of tobacco, wet leaves and wilted rose. Then, the finish offers a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, cardamom, white pepper), notes of torrefaction (cocoa, coffee, toasted almond) and aromatic herbs (fresh thyme and rosemary, bay leaf, mint dried). The finish is persistent, tight, tannic, with lively acidity and tension. A powerful, complex and fresh wine.
