Tenuta Cavalier Pepe – Opera Mia 2017 – Taurasi

The nose is aromatic and offers a certain fruitiness. There are notes of Sichuan pepper and small notes of spices, associated with touches of small wild fruits, hints of violet plum, as well as fine hints of black pepper and a subtle hint of discreetly game (in the background) and thyme. The palate is nicely fresh, mineral, well-balanced and offers a fresh frame, suppleness, accuracy, gourmandise, energy and a coating spherical side. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh cassis, fleshy/juicy blue plum and small notes of blueberry, combined with touches of fresh raspberry, as well as fine hints of cornflower, infusion, graphene and fine hints of chocolate. A hint of cocoa nibs. Good length. The tannins are precise, sapid and gourmand. A nice little fleshiness of tannin. Brilliance, a certain darkness in freshness and a nice little gourmand chew.
