Tenuta Cavalier Pepe – Appio 2018 – Irpinia Campi Taurasini

The nose is fruity and offers concentration, depth and complexity. There are notes of violet, wild cassis and small notes of fairly ripe black plum, associated with touches of black pepper, small roasted-elegant red fruits, hints of flowers, sage, as well as a discreet, almost rosemary-like hint, nicely sense of the place (local biotop). Depth, accuracy and precision. The palate is beautifully juicy, fruity, mineral, balanced, elegant, brilliant and offers brighness and precision. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of brilliant cassis, violet plum and small notes of small roasted-juicy red fruits, combined with touches of licorice stick, fine hints of cocoa nibs, small brilliant blue fruits, as well as fine hints of sweet blond tobacco and vanilla. Good length. Nicely textured and gourmandise. A nicely mineral wine, with a crystalline side, brilliance, silkiness, density in finesse and accuracy.
