Tenuta Casenuove 2018 – Chianti Classico Riserva

Tenuta Casenuove 2018 – Chianti Classico Riserva

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is fruity and gourmand, subtly spicy. It expresses notes of fresh nutmeg, liquorice (with a touch of star anise), clove and ground cumin, combined with fragrant floral notes (violet, fresh rose) and a fresh touch of peppermint. We also find ripe fruit (morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed blackcurrant, fresh raspberry), with a gourmand jammy touch of red cherry jam and redcurrant jelly. The palate expresses intense fruity flavors, juiciness and grippy tannins, dry and slightly raspy, softened by fruity substance and salivating acidity. We find notes of tangy bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, fresh raspberry, tangy blackcurrant, crunchy strawberry, as well as herbaceous touches more perceptible on the palate (blackcurrant leaf, cut grass, peppermint), completed by some spiciness (liquorice, pepper white, nutmeg). The finish is juicy, with salivating acidity and a touch of violet in the background.
