Tenuta Campo al Signore, Volante 2021 – Bolgheri

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is aromatic and complex: it expresses spicy (nutmeg, black pepper, ground cumin, liquorice with a touch of star anise and toasted vanilla in the background) and herbaceous (dried pine needles, peppermint, dried rosemary, fresh tobacco) aromas, harmoniously enveloped in notes of ripe fruit (wild strawberry, raspberry, crushed blackcurrant, morello cherry, blueberry, a touch of wild blackberry) and completed by a hint of saline minerality and a fine floral bouquet (peony, wild rose) . The palate is finely tight and offers straightness, accuracy and freshness. It expresses notes of juicy fruits: wild strawberry, morello cherry, blueberry, crushed blackcurrant, raspberry, combined with a fine spiciness(liquorice with a touch of star anise, black pepper, nutmeg), floral notes (peony, rose wild), aromatic herbs (dried mint, bouquet garni, fresh tobacco), as well as a hint of chocolate and torrefaction in the background (coffee, toasted hazelnut). The finish is persistent, chiseled and tangy: it first expresses tangy notes of red cherry and raspberry and continues with the gourmandise of cherry in chocolate and cocoa. The tannins are fine, but structured and tight. Beautiful salivating acidity which brings a lot of freshness to the wine.
