Tenuta Campo al Signore 2021 – Bolgheri Superiore

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers delicacy and finesse, gourmand fruity aromas, as well as a savoury spicy and herbaceous notes. It expresses notes of morello cherry, tart red cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry and blueberry, combined with touches of sweet spices (liquorice with a hint of star anise, grated nutmeg, dried vanilla, white pepper), aromatic herbs (dried peppermint, tobacco, bay leaf, rosemary), balsamic, a hint of black olive in the background, as well as a light floral touch (dried rose) and a saline hint in the background. The palate is juicy and enveloping, but fresh and chiselled. The attack is round, chocolatey (cherry in chocolate) and then expresses notes of black plum, ripe morello cherry, red cherry jam, fresh bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry and blueberry, associated with a fine spiciness (liquorice, toasted vanilla, white pepper, grated nutmeg), herbaceous notes (fresh peppermint, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, tobacco) and a touch of wild rose. The finish is juicy, persistent and expresses notes of tart red cherry, accompanied by a hint of dried pine needles and balsamic. The tannins are well constructed and finely tight, slightly drying on the finish, but balanced by a salivating acidity. A concentrated wine with a beautiful structure and good aging potential.
