St Supery – Dollarhide – Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers gourmandise, richness as well as a beautiful balance between power / richness / finesse. The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of fleshy boysenberry, crushed blackcurrant and wild strawberry combined with slight notes of blueberry, blackberry, violet as well as subtle touches of hazelnut and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful acid / juicy frame, a beautiful elegance, a beautiful definition, tension, a very beautiful finesse, delicacy, a beautiful balance, a beautiful power, a nice richness, a very beautiful matter, a nice tannic structure, a beautiful suavity, precision as well as a slight creaminess. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed boysenberry, crushed cassis and blueberry associated with a subtle touch of fleshy / crushed strawberry, a discreet hint of plum, cornflower/ violet as well as subtle hints of caramel, toasted oak, subtle touches of hazelnut / almond, dark chocolate and a very discreet hint of cigar (in the background). Tannins are fine, straight and chewy.
