Socré Roncaglie 2019 – Barbaresco

Socré Roncaglie 2019 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose offers aromatic intensity, a savoury spicines, complexity and concentrated fruitiness. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, fresh red cherry (with a slight touch of roasted red cherry), morello cherry, a hint of wild blackberry and raspberry coulis. On the second nose, we find distinct but subtle resinous notes (fresh rosemary, fresh pine needles, pine bark, pine sap in the background), associated with spicy aromas (liquorice, nutmeg, clove) and with a fine floral touch (dried rose). On the palate, the wine offers a certain volume, an enveloping fruitiness, all in freshness, as well as fairly solid, but silky and melted tannins. It expresses the flavors of ripe fruit (wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, fresh red cherry with a touch of roasted red cherry, a hint of crushed blackcurrant), an elegant spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, clove), a touch of dried rose and the resinous notes, which we have on the nose (fresh pine needles, a hint of pine sap, fresh rosemary). The finish is gourmand, persistent, with a supple but salivating acidity, a very slight bitterness and a touch of torrefaction (coffee) in the background. A well-balanced wine, quite powerful and well-constructed, but refined.
