Socré 2021 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers delicacy, the gourmandise of fresh fruit, complemented by warm notes of roasted fruit. It expresses the aromas of roasted red cherry, red currant, fresh red cherry, crushed fresh raspberry, crunchy strawberry, a touch of blackcurrant, associated with spicy notes, which appear on the second nose (liquorice, Sichuan pepper, nutmeg, bourbon vanilla and a hint of cinnamon in the background), as well as a touch of torrefaction (ground coffee, cocoa, oak toast in the background) and notes of herbs and flowers (wild mint, fresh thyme, fresh bay leaf, rose petals, a touch of violet), which refresh the bouquet and bring elegance. On the palate, the wine offers a velvety and finely tight tannic structure, beautiful acidity, lots of liveliness and freshness. It expresses the flavors of tangy fruits on the attack (red cherry, raspberry, crunchy strawberry), which are complemented by the sweeter notes of roasted fruits and black fruits (roasted cherry, a touch of morello cherry and crushed blackcurrant). We also find gourmand notes of sweet spices (liquorice, white pepper, nutmeg, bourbon vanilla in the background), refreshed by herbaceous and floral notes (wild mint, rose). The finish is persistent, with good bitterness and slight notes of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut). A pleasant wine, which offers suppleness and harmony.
