The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. On the nose, it is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses the gourmand aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee and toasted almond, as well as vanilla and liquorice. The fruits on the nose are ripe and tangy – we find aromas of red cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, blueberry and blackcurrant, as well as touches of peppermint, dried thyme, fresh wood, smoke and violet. The palate is tight, straight and slightly bitter on the attack. It expresses notes of wild cherry, cranberry, tangy raspberry and red cherry, combined with a good bitterness of grapefruit and coffee, as well as touches of roasting (toasted wood, toasted almond). The mid-palate reveals spicy flavors of white pepper, nutmeg, and liquorice, along with dried peppermint and dried rosemary. The tannins are powdery and firm, balanced by a mouthwatering acidity. Good length on notes of coffee and cocoa.
