Seguin-Manuel « Crémillons » 2022 – Givry 1er Cru

Seguin-Manuel « Crémillons » 2022 – Givry 1er Cru

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is reserved at first and requires aeration. It expresses slight meaty and smoky notes, which disappear after aeration. We then find the aromas of sweet spices (liquorice, crushed coriander seeds, nutmeg), subtle notes of fresh flowers (rose, lilac) and herbs (fresh tobacco, crushed peppermint), as well as a fine toasted touch in the background, enveloped in a fleshy and fresh fruity substance (aromas of wild strawberries, morello cherries, redcurrant jelly, crushed raspberries, dried cranberries). The palate is expressive, gourmet and fruity. It offers notes of crushed strawberry, fresh raspberry, cranberries (in the background), red currants and a hint of blueberry in the background. We also find notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, white pepper, a hint of liquorice), fresh flowers (rose, lilac), a touch of dried mint and torrefaction (slightly toasted hazelnut). The tannins are velvety and melted. Beautiful acidity and good persistence on the palate, with notes of toasted wood and sweet spices, which should integrate into the wine profile with time.
