This is an impressive wine, especially considering it is only an appellation wine. The aromas open broad and very fragrant with bright red fruits, bramble fruits, as well as earthy and leathery undertones. The palate is more concentrated than what was announced on the nose. It’s jammier and even has candied cherry flavor. Aged in both American & French oak, the mix of smoke and spices joins the juicy backbone for a filling mouth feel.
