Santa Sofia 2015 – Recioto Della Valpolicella Classico

The nose is elegant, powerful and offers complexity, a beautiful definition and a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of bright black cherry, plum, small notes of violet associated with touches of strawberry jam, crushed raspberry as well as fine hints of iris, pepper, discreet hints of laurel berries and local grove. The palate is fruity and offers a beautiful acidulous frame, gourmandize, tension as well as finesse, suavity, a good definition and a fine grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright cassis, crushed raspberry, small notes of crushed redcurrant associated with touches of bright cherry as well as hints of acidulous/pulpy violet plum, liquorice stick, iris, liquorice, black tea, discreet hints of laurel berries, an imperceptible hint of dry local grove and balsamic. Good length. Tannins are precise and finely chewy.
