San Rustico – Gaso 2012 – Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

The nose is gourmand, powerful and offers a fine grain, a small richness and deepness. It reveals notes of crushed violet plum, violet, small notes of wild strawberry associated with touches of small blue berries, crushed cassis, grey pepper, tobacco as well as hints of spices, grey pepper and a subtle hint of rosemary. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, gourmandize, a small unctuosity, richness and a beautiful acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy griotte, violet plum, small notes of crushed strawberry associated with small touches of candied cassis as well as hints of rose petal, crushed redcurrant as well as fine hints of tobacco, liquorice stick, cocoa, discreet hints of camphor, zests orange and rosemary. Good length. Tannins are elegant, racy and well-built.
