The nose offers a lot of freshness, despite a hot summer during this vintage. We find aromas of blackcurrant, juicy blueberry, redcurrant, raspberry and juicy strawberry, associated with notes of fresh aromatic herbs (mint, rosemary), sweet spices with a menthol and aniseed nuances (liquorice, cardamom, hint of star anise, as well as vanilla), sweet floral aromas (iris, peony). We also find gourmet notes of coffee with milk, chocolate and balsamic cream. The palate is full and gourmand: it expresses the flavors of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry), tangy red fruits (bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry), sweet spices (liquorice, vanilla, cardamom), flowers (peony, iris), as well as a gourmet hint of roasting (bitter almond, chocolate, coffee) and a herbaceous freshness (fresh mint, rosemary), associated with a good bitterness of bird cherry. The tannins are firm, but fine. Good persistence on the bitterness of coffee, cocoa and bird cherry and a salivating acidity.
