Sagrado – Vinhas Velhas 2010 – Douro 

The nose is elegant and offers finesse as well as gourmandise. It reveals notes of blackberry, ripe wild strawberry and small notes of cassis associated with touches of fleshy plum, spices and undergrowth / mushroom, black olives, gray pepper, Zan / dried tobacco, minerality and a very discreet hint of olive. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a beautiful suavity, juiciness, a fine tension, an acidulous frame, a good definition, elegance, a good structure, a silky matter, dynamism, a good minerality, a very fine grain as well as an acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, ripe cassis and small notes of chocolate, Zan associated with touches of ripe strawberry and discreet hints of black olive, tobacco, spices and a very discreet hint of caramelization (in the background). There are very discreet / imperceptible hints of hazelnut / chocolate and caramelization on the persistence.
