The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color. The nose offers density, concentration, freshness, and elegance. It expresses a restrained and refined spicy and toasted hint – notes of toasted almond, heated wood, white pepper, and liquorice, as well as a smoky touch, wrapped in a fresh and tangy fruity substance (red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, crushed blackcurrant, blueberry), as well as a minty hint of liquorice, star anise, and dried mint. After aeration, the wine also offers chocolate notes (cocoa nibs, bitter cocoa). The palate is well-defined, juicy, and enveloping. The attack is gourmand and concentrated – with notes of chocolate-covered morello cherry, dried red cherry, blackcurrant jam, and wild blackberry. Then, it expresses complexity and depth in a velvety tannin texture and a powerful structure, as well as ample flavors of dark chocolate, crushed morello cherry, raspberry coulis and dried red cherry. There are also notes of herbs (roasted bouquet garni, dried mint, tobacco), spices (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper) and dried wildflowers. The finish is sapid, persistent, and offers salivating acidity and smoky and roasted meat notes. Nice acidity, supple, but fresh. A closed wine, with good potential.
