Roger Groult – Vénérable – Calvados Pays d’Auge

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers a slight concentration. It reveals notes of cedar and slight touches of crushed yellow peach associated with a hint of ripe/cooked yellow apple, a slight hint of green apple, a woody hint as well as a subtle hint of apple blossom, fresh lemon zests and an imperceptible hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, elegant, round, slightly unctuous, quite aerial and offers a beautiful balance as well as gourmandise. In the mouth this Calvados expresses notes of apple, candied lemon and slight notes of peach/pear associated with a hint of cider as well as a discreet woody hint, gingerbread and a subtle/very discreet hint of apple blossom. Good length.
