The wine has a medium intensity ruby color. The nose offers some density, juiciness and concentration of fruit, even with a roasted fruit side. It expresses aromas of crushed strawberry, roasted raspberry, juicy morello cherry, roasted red cherry and black plum (with a delicate touch of prunes in the background). There is also some complexity – notes of wood aging and sweet spices (chocolate, a hint of toasted hazelnut, liquorice and clove). After aeration, subtle notes of violet and dried thyme appear. The palate is airy, juicy and fruity, rather delicate. It expresses notes of morello cherry, crushed strawberry, roasted red cherry, roasted raspberry, black plum and prunes in the background. The mid-palate expresses the tangy side of bigarreau cherry, as well as fine toasted notes of cocoa, liquorice, clove and violet in the background. The acidity is lively and salivating, the finish is moderately persistent, with a touch of bitterness. The tannins are fine, but tight on the finish.
