Rizzi, Rizzi Riserva, Vigna Boito 2019 – Barbaresco

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is very fragrant, with an expressive floral bouquet and slight tertiary notes. It expresses notes of faded rose, dried peony, fresh lilac, combined with delicate touches of undergrowth, dried grass, tobacco, toasted almond, cocoa, liquorice, grated nutmeg and toasted vanilla. We also find fresh fruit (strawberry, raspberry, morello cherry, crushed blueberry, dried blackcurrant, even crème de cassis). The palate offers silkiness, a certain volume and notes of very ripe, even dried fruit. It expresses the flavors of crushed strawberry, amarena cherry, crushed raspberry, dried blackcurrant (with a hint of crème de cassis), chocolate with mint, dried rose, peony and lilac, combined with touches of undergrowth, tobacco, faded rose and sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg). The finish is quite persistent and expresses good bitterness, salivating acidity and the slightly grippy tannins (while remaining fine and enveloped). Complexity, gourmandise and a beautiful structure.
