Rietine 2019 – Chianti Classico

Rietine 2019 – Chianti Classico

The wine has a medium intensity ruby color with garnet reflections. The nose is aromatic, fragrant and expresses distinct tertiary notes: dry tobacco, leather, faded rose, undergrowth in the background. We then find a beautiful herbaceous freshness (fresh wild mint, menthol, basil, fresh bay leaf, wild thyme), a floral bouquet (violet, dried cornflower, dried rose, peony), spiciness (liquorice, nutmeg, clove, crushed coriander seeds, black pepper), as well as a concentrated fruity substance (roasted red cherry, morello cherry, morello cherry jam, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, raspberry jam, red currant jelly) with a hint of dark chocolate, chocolate kirsched cherry and crème de cassis in the background. The palate is enveloping, juicy and gourmand, with a rich and ripe, but refined fruitiness. It expresses the flavors of juicy morello cherry, red cherry jam, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, redcurrant jelly, combined with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, white pepper, crushed coriander seeds, nutmeg), flowers (dried rose, peony, violet), herbs (dried thyme, bay leaf, basil, wild mint), as well as delicate tertiary touches, less pronounced than on the nose (undergrowth, tobacco, leather, faded rose). The tannins are sapid, melted and have a fine grain and a firm structure. The finish is sapid and fresh thanks to a nice acidity.
