Richard Jambon, Moulin-à-Vent 12M 2018 – Moulin-à-Vent

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The first nose offers pure fruit and delicacy: the aromas of crushed morello cherry, red cherry juice, red cherry jam, crushed raspberry, roasted red plum, dried strawberry, which are completed by delicate tertiary notes (undergrowth), dried rose, cornflower, roasted bouquet garni, dried mint, as well as discreet notes of sweet spices (liquorice, cumin, white pepper, nutmeg). The palate is silky and fragrant, with a firm tannin structure, slightly drying in the mid-palate. It expresses notes of dried morello cherry, fresh red cherry, fresh raspberry, red plum and blackcurrant in the background, associated with a good bitterness of torrefaction (coffee, smoke), a fine spiciness (black pepper, licorice, clove), as well as herbaceous (dried bouquet garni, dried peppermint) and floral (dried rose, dried peony) notes. The finish is persistent, gourmand and chocolatey, with spicy notes of black pepper, dried leaves, tobacco and a touch of prunes in chocolate in the background. A structured and complex wine, with lively acidity and good balance.
