Richard Jambon, Morgon 12M 2021 – Morgon

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration, density, an expressive spiciness (with a dominant peppery note), as well as a beautiful freshness. It expresses notes of white pepper, liquorice, cloves and crushed coriander seeds, enveloped in gourmand fruits. We also find notes of dried peppermint, fresh thyme, cornflower and lily, associated with a racy minerality (graphite, dry stone, even dusty), which appears in the second nose. The fruity substance is fresh, juicy and enveloping: the wine expresses notes of Mara de Bois strawberry, morello cherry, crushed raspberry and red currant. The palate is sapid, concentrated and enveloping and airy at the same time. The tannins are fine and powdery, slightly grippy, but quite supple. We find the flavors of Mara de Bois strawberry, morello cherry, crushed red currant, red cherry juice, crushed raspberry and red plum, associated with expressive spicy notes, but without peppery dominance – liquorice, ground cumin , nutmeg (especially on the finish), with a fine floral (dried rose, cornflower) and herbaceous (dried peppermint, fresh thyme) bouquet. The finish is persistent and expresses notes of tangy red fruits (red cherry, red currant), minerality and the structured and slightly tight tannins.
