The wine shows a ruby colour with a garnet rim. The nose is dense and smoky, revealing nuances of tobacco, underbrush, cinnamon, a touch of dried cherries, kirsch and cigar box. The palate is concentrated and powerful, high alcohol is well-balanced by the exuberant juiciness of fruit, refreshing acidity and smooth, silky tannins. The palate demonstrates a nice fruit concentration with nuances of crunchy red cherries, raspberries, a touch of dried herbs, savoury spices and noble wood. The finish is warming and spicy with a pleasant, piquant bitterness in the background.
