Ramos Pinto – 2000 Vintage Port

The nose is fruity, elegant, gourmand and offers power, intensity, fat, suavity, freshness as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of wild cassis, scrubland and small notes of gray pepper associated with fine touches of black cherry, plum, very slight hints of graphite, cardamom as well as a subtle hint of caramelization and blond tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a mineral / slightly acidulous frame, a good definition, fine power as well as juiciness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / crunchy cassis, juicy red / crunchy cherry and small notes of juicy / crunchy red berries associated with slight touches of wild blackberry, slight hints of zan, garrigue as well as very discreet hints of tonka bean / chocolate, almond, cardamom, toasted, a very discreet hint of dried fruit and a subtle hint of coffee. Beautiful persistence. Beautiful definition and gourmandise !
