Quinta dos Mattos 2016 – LBV Porto

Quinta dos Mattos 2016 – LBV Porto

(Bottled: 2022) The nose is aromatic and offers a certain small power, elegance as well as an airy side. It reveals notes of tobacco, dried plum and small notes of fresh date associated with a touch of dried apricot, jammy strawberry, fine hints of tobacco, nutmeg as well as a discreet hint of clove and pepper. The palate is nicely built, fruity, well-balanced and offers freshness, a good definition, suppleness, minerality, a finely tight grain, race as well as a certain creaminess in balance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of raspberry jam, crushed plum and small notes of cassis liqueur associated with touches of coffee, toasted oak as well as a hint of roasted almond as well as a hint of cinnamon and caramelization. The wine needs to be decanted. A certain small alcoholic power in the background/on the persistence.
