The wine has a deep ruby color with light purple reflections. It is reserved for the nose and benefits from aeration. It expresses the aromas of fresh wild blackberry, blackcurrant jam, ripe morello cherry, crushed wild strawberry, redcurrant jelly, crème de cassis, cherry in kirsch, as well as a fresh touch of crushed peppermint, a sqvoury bouquet of sweet spices (licorice, cloves, vanilla), a hint of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, toasted coconut in the background), as well as a powdery hint of bitter cocoa and a sweet touch of dark chocolate. There is also a subtle floral note of rose petals in syrup. The palate is fleshy, powerful, but silky, and offers concentration and richness of fruit. We find notes of crushed wild strawberry, cherry in kirsch, crème de cassis, blackcurrant jam, morello cherry jam, crushed fresh morello cherry, crushed blackberry, a tannic touch of wild plum, as well as slight bitterness of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, toasted almond and coffee, which adds a pleasant bitterness to the bouquet of wine and balances its sweetness. There are also discreet and savory sweet spice notes (licorice, cloves, vanilla), a touch of peppermint and rose petals in syrup. The tannins are structured and powerful, but have a very fine texture. Beautiful acidity and freshness on the finish. The alcohol level is high, but integrated and not burning.
