Quinta das Avelleiras 2013 – Douro

The nose reveals notes of blackberry, cassis jam and slight notes of small berries, raspberry jam associated with hints of spices, nuts, Sichuan pepper as well as slight notes of spices, a hint of tea and a discreet hint of minerality. The palate is fruity, mineral, suave, well-defined and offers a beautiful gourmand matter, a slight acid frame, a good definition as well as a beautiful roundness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry cream, cassis and slight notes of crunchy strawberry associated with hints of small red berries, chocolate, liquorice, tea, caramel, cardamom as well as a slight toasted oak. Tannins are slighlty dry/over-extracted. Good length.
