Quinta da Lapa – Merlot 2017, Reserva – DO Tejo D.O.C

The nose is gourmand and offers a small richness, a small intensity as well as a slight sensation of unctuosity. It reveals notes of creamy blackberry, crushed strawberry and small notes of crème de cassis associated with a touch of lily, a fine touch of blueberry as well as hints of tonka bean, sweet blond tobacco as well as very discreet hints of Cuben pepper, cardamom and an imperceptible hint of arbutus (in the background). The palate is fruity, gourmand and offers juiciness, a small freshness, a small unctuosity, a good balance as well as a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of unctuous blackberry, creamy strawberry and small notes of crushed cassis associated with fine touches of acidulous blueberry, hints of lily, lilac, tonka bean, cardamom as well as very discreet hints of toasted almond, tobacco and arbutus. Tannins are well-structured, fine and supple. Good length. Beautiful persistence with hints of chocolate and toasted / toasted hazelnuts.
