The wine shows a classic ruby-garnet colour. The nose is a bit restrained, revealing notes of cherry compote, red plums, a touch of prunes, a hint of macchia and sage. The palate is powerful but elegant and full of finesse, with grippy, chalky tannins and juicy, refreshing acidity. It demonstrates notes of crunchy red cherries, wild strawberries, a touch of strawberry confit and savoury herbs. The finish is complex and long with sweetness of fruit underlaid by solid minerality.
