Quercecchio 2020 – Brunello di Montalcino

Quercecchio 2020 – Brunello di Montalcino

The nose is reserved, tangy, fruity with integrated herbaceous and spicy touches. We first smell the spices (nutmeg, liquorice, cardamom) and herbs (dried thyme, rosemary, a hint of dried blackcurrant leaf), then we find the fresh vanilla and chocolate which bring gourmandise, complemented by the juicy fruits (morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry), as well as notes of coffee, toasted hazelnut, toasted almond and bitter cocoa. The palate is juicy, straight, tangy, chiseled and airy, with solid, grippy tannins, with a good coffee bitterness, balanced by a salivating acidity. The flavors are more on tangy black fruits (blackcurrant, bird cherry with bitterness, morello cherry), complemented by a hint of red cherry, cranberries and raspberry. We also find the freshness of herbs, a hint of menthol, notes of dried mint, rosemary, cocoa and refined bitter chocolate on the persistence. Good length with a refreshing acidity.
