Poderi Luigi Einaudi, Villero 2021 – Barolo

Poderi Luigi Einaudi, Villero 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color, reserved on the nose and requires aeration. It then expresses the sappy (pine bark, pine sap, fresh pine needles), herbaceous (dried mint, fresh rosemary) and floral (fresh rose petals, peony, iris) notes, associated with chocolatey touches (bitter cocoa, dark chocolate in the background, tangy cocoa nibs) and ripe fruits (red cherry, morello cherry, crushed raspberry, wild blueberry), a very light touch of toasted, even caramelized hazelnut, vanilla and liquorice. The palate is airy, juicy and gourmet, with a fruity attack (red cherry, morello cherry, fresh strawberry, raspberry), complemented by notes of wild mint, fresh pine needles, rose, peony and liquorice. Cocoa flavors (cocoa nibs, dark chocolate) and toasted flavors (toasted hazelnut with a hint of caramel) appear on the finish. Tannins have a velvety and fine texture, savory, but quite firm. Good length, savoury and tangy. A harmonious and well-constructed wine.
