Poderi Luigi Einaudi LUDO 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The first nose expresses savory, slightly smoky and meaty notes, which are then completed by notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice stick, ground cumin), flowers (rose, lily), coffee and toasted hazelnut (in the background). The fruity side on the nose expresses aromas of tangy fresh fruits (blackcurrant, blueberry, crushed black plum), with notes of dried fruit in the background (dried cherry, dried raspberry) and a fine herbaceous notes (bay leaf, a touch of basil, dried mint). The palate is straight and chiselled, with lively acidity, good bitterness and a tangy fruitiness. It expresses notes of bigarreau cherry, raspberry, crunchy strawberry, cranberries and blueberry, associated with a fresh and integrated herbaceous hint (mint, bay leaf, blackcurrant leaf in the background), as well as notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, licorice). The tannins are tight, a little dry, but fine, balanced by a salivating acidity. Good persistence in the mouth, with savoury spicy notes.
