Poderi Luigi Einaudi, Cannubi 2021 – Barolo

Poderi Luigi Einaudi, Cannubi 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose opens with a floral bouquet, which combines fresh flowers and faded flowers (faded rose, fresh violet, fresh peony). Then, it expresses elegant and integrated herbaceous notes (wild mint, a very slight hint of menthol and dried pine needles), a juicy fruity material (morello cherry, red cherry, fresh cherry, a hint of cranberry syrup), chocolatey notes (chocolate morello cherry, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate), toasted (toasted hazelnut, coffee) and spicy hints (liquorice, cardamom, a hint of nutmeg). The palate is enveloping, fresh and juicy, with a concentrated fruitiness, but airy and tangy. It expresses the flavors of red cherry, cranberries, raspberry, morello cherry and blueberry, combined with a fine herbaceous nuance (wild mint, dried pine needles), a touch of chocolate (dark chocolate, cocoa nibs) and spice (liquorice, crushed cardamom). Tannins are fine, enveloping and slightly grippy, balanced by a salivating and gourmet acidity (on tangy red fruits – cranberries, red cherry). Good tangy and lively persistence.
