Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Monvigliero 2021 – Barolo

Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Monvigliero 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color, with very slight garnet reflections. The nose is aromatic, fruity and juicy. It expresses the gourmand notes of ripe fruits (crushed morello cherry, blackberry, wild strawberry, red cherry, wild raspberry), underlined by a fine spiciness (liquorice, ground nutmeg, a hint of white pepper and tonka bean in the background). After aeration, we also find herbal touches (dried mint, fresh tobacco), rose and roasted (coffee, cocoa, toasted almond). The palate reflects the aromatic profile: the attack is fresh, with juicy ripe fruit (crushed morello cherry, red cherry, wild strawberry, blackberry, a hint of blackcurrant and wild raspberry), which are complemented by roasted notes (coffee, with its good bitterness, cocoa, toasted almond, as well as a very delicate smoky hint), spices (liquorice, tonka bean, cardamom, a hint of cinnamon), as well as a herbaceous nuance (dried mint, fresh tobacco). The tannins are velvety and soft, but solid. The finish is chiseled, tangy and refreshing, with a beautiful fruity persistence. A fresh Barolo, accessible in its youth, but with good aging potential.
