The wine has a pale ruby color, with very slight garnet reflections. The nose is fragrant and textured, with initial aromas of ripe fruit (crushed morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, red cherry jam), which are then complemented by notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, chocolate-covered morello cherry, as well as fresh tobacco, sweet spices (liquorice, even star anise, Sichuan pepper, cardamom and tonka bean in the background). There are also notes of fresh tobacco, a hint of smoke and roasting (coffee, toasted wood), as well as faded rose in the background and a slight earthy touch. The palate is juicy, smooth and velvety, with melted and soft tannins, of a very fine grain. The attack expresses a pleasant and gourmand bitterness of coffee and dark chocolate, envelopped in a juicy and ripe fruitiness (flavors of morello cherry, blackberry, crushed blackcurrant, wild strawberry and wild raspberry). Then we find notes of licorice, white pepper in the background, cardamom and a touch of vanilla, associated with a toasted side (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood), as well as a mineral touch of tar and damp earth, which bring complexity, a hint of dried rose and tobacco. A precise and elegant wine.
