Podere Terreno 2020 – Chianti Classico Riserva

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses gourmand aromas of red chocolate cherry, ripe black plum, wild strawberry, wild blackberry, morello cherry, raspberry coulis, combined with a fine peppery side (ground white pepper in the background), fine notes of sweet spices (vanilla, liquorice, a touch of cinnamon in the background), fresh flowers (iris, peony, dried rose) as well as a touch of bitter cocoa and toasted almond. The palate offers juiciness, fine but firm tannins, enveloped in good fruity substance and refreshing acidity. We find flavors of fresh red cherry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry coulis, cranberry juice with good bitterness, red plum, blueberry and tart red cherry, combined with touches of white pepper, liquorice, ground clove, dried mint and basil in the background, as well as a subtle limestone minerality and a floral bouquet (peony, dried rose). The finish is quite persistent, with good bitterness and salivating acidity.
