Podere Marella, Marella Rosato 2023 – Trasimeno DOC Rosato

(Sangiovese, Trasimeno Gamay, Merlot): The wine has a pale salmon pink color. The nose is aromatic, subtly spicy (nutmeg), and slightly toasted (a touch of toast and hazelnut). We also find a floral hint of fresh rose and dried rose, fresh orange, dried red orange, lemon juice, a touch of bay leaf, red cherry, passion fruit, pineapple, red plum, a sweet touch of biscuits and yeast. The palate is enveloping, oily, even vinous, with a note of cherry in kirsch, chestnuts, red plum, peqr drops, crushed strawberry. The finish is sapid, spicy (white pepper, nutmeg), salivating and a slightly bitter (good bitterness of grapefruit). An intense and original wine, vinous and gastronomic, with gourmet notes of crushed raspberry, crushed red currant and a pleasant bitterness of grapefruit and walnuts on a persistent and sapid finish.
