The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is airy and fragrant, but reserved at the beginning (the wine benefits from aeration). It expresses tertiary notes of wilted rose, fallen leaves, undergrowth and damp fallen pine needles. There are also fruity aromas (dried red cherry, crushed morello cherry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry, a hint of cranberry), fresh flowers (wild rose, lily), spices (crushed cardamom, nutmeg, liquorice, a hint of vanilla), roasting (toasted hazelnut, heated wood, coffee, mint chocolate), as well as bergamot in the background. The palate is juicy, enveloping, fruity and fresh. On the attack, it expresses notes of fresh red cherry, morello cherry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry and cranberries in syrup, combined with a fresh floral fragrance (peony, wild rose). Then we find spicy and herbaceous notes (liquorice, crushed cardamom, a hint of coriander and cumin seeds, wild mint), roasted notes (cocoa, coffee, toasted hazelnut), as well as a bitter, smoky and tangy touch of fresh bergamot. The finish adds delicate tertiary touches to the bouquet (withered peony, wet leaves, tobacco). The tannins are fine, soft and sapid. The finish is persistent, juicy and gourmand, with distinct notes of crushed morello cherry and a nive acidity. A refined, elegant and slightly evolved wine.
