The nose is fruity and offers a certain concentration as well as a good maturity of the fruit (which flirts at times with controlled over-ripeness). There are notes of Bigarreau cherry, wild dark berries and, more lightly, crushed wild red berries combined with fine touches of star anise, sap, discreet spices and a hint of vanilla and sweet tobacco. The palate is fruity and reveals freshness, minerality, good definition, a certain gourmandize and a tangy texture. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright plum and more slightly ripe red berries, combined with touches of light tobacco, cardamom, as well as subtle hints of nutmeg, dried almond and discreet varietal hints. Tannins are well-managed and mellow. Good length. Some mellowness and sapidity on the finish/persistence.
