The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is aromatic and offers depth and complexity, but needs to breathe to fully open up. It expresses notes of juicy and tangy fruits (morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, red currant, crushed raspberry, blackcurrant and blueberry), combined with savoury touches of roasted aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni), dried thyme, dried mint, with a mineral touch of graphite, spicy notes (liquorice with a very subtle touch of star anise, toasted vanilla, cloves, roasted coriander seeds, cinnamon), floral (rose, peony), dark chocolate and torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, a slight smoky touch). The palate offers volume, an enveloping touch and notes of ripe and juicy fruit, all in elegance. It expresses the flavors of morello cherry, roasted bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, crushed raspberry, associated with refined herbaceous nuances (bay leaf, thyme, rosemary), a warm but integrated spiciness (liquorice, vanilla, clove, a hint of cinnamon), a note of dark chocolate, peony and toasted hazelnut. The tannins are velvety and powdery. Nice refreshing acidity. The finish is persistent and sapid, with notes of toast, smoke, chocolate, the gourmandise of morello cherry, cocoa and a fine minerality (graphite). A complex, refined and fresh wine.
