Pierre Prieur & Fils, Domaine de Saint-Pierre 2020 – Sancerre

The wine has a ruby color of medium to deep intensity. The nose offers concentration and juiciness in finesse, as well as a rich and expressive fruity material, but at the same time rich and tangy. It expresses notes of juicy morello cherry, blueberry in syrup, crushed blackcurrant, fresh blackberry and raspberry coulis. There are also notes of liquorice, blackcurrant leaf in the background, a sappy touch (fresh pine needles, pine bark, menthol in the background). After aeration, the aromatic bouquet is completed by notes of gray pepper and nutmeg, as well as dried rose and violet. The palate is enveloping, textured, with very fine and polished tannins, with a powdery texture and a firm structure. The attack expresses the flavors of juicy black fruits (morello cherry, black plum, blackberry, blackcurrant), associated with a tangy touch of red fruits (bigarreau cherry, raspberry), as well as notes of sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, hint of white pepper), flowers (violet, dried rose), dried mint, cocoa in the background. The finish is harmonious, subtly bitter, with a salivating acidity and good persistence. A structured, precise and concentrated wine.
