Petrolo – Galatrona 2022 – Valdarno di Sopra DOC Merlot

The nose is elegant, delicate and beautifully aromatic, juggling between flowers and pulpy fruit. It reveals notes of cornflower, lilac and small notes of bright blackberry, associated with touches of small, brilliant red berries, as well as fine hints of crushed cassis and a subtle hint of nutmeg, sweet tobacco and a discreet hint of Sichuan pepper in the background. The palate is beautifully juicy, fruity, mineral and bright and offers a lovely purity of fruit. It offers a chiseled, elegant, racy, deep side and offers an elegant darkness, freshness and airy side. This wine expresses notes of crushed cassis, bigarreau cherry, and small notes of small roasted-elegant red berries, associated with fine touches of sage, basil, as well as fine hints of blood orange, licorice stick, tobacco, black olive and integrated toasty notes. Tannins are elegant, mellow, racy and structuring. A hint of roasting on the retro.
