Petit Faurie de Soutard 2018 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers concentration, richness as well as freshness. It reveals notes of fleshy/ripe cassis and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of red berries/ripe raspberry and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of red berries/ripe raspberry as well as a hint of fleshy violet plum, flowers (violet, iris), a hint of liquorice stick, very fine hints of black tea and a very discreet hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fresh, fruity, well-balanced, elegant and offers a good definition, a beautiful juiciness, a beautiful suavity, a fine tension as well as a beautiful precision. On the palate this wine exoresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy cassis and small notes of juicy blueberry/blue fruits associated with touches of cornflower, iris, hints of chocolat, liquorice as well as a fine hint of minerality almost saline and an imperceptible hint of sugared mild tobacco. Tannins are fine, elegant and straight. Good length. There is a very discreet hint of coffee and grilled bread on the persistence. Good and gourmande persistence.
